Be Better
Happy heavenly birthday to my dad, who would have turned 89 on Sept. 11. I miss his frequent encouragement to “be better,” which he openly shared during our conversations about life, values, parenting, careers and most importantly, giving to others. Dad spent his career in a variety of finance, treasury and human resources leadership roles at AT&T, Volkswagen and Right Associates as a senior management consultant. He was one of the first U.S. permanent deacons ordained in 1976. Besides faith and family, one of his passions was his garden railroad display. He died in 2021.
